They say you shouldn’t care what other people think. Sometimes it’s not just what they think but what they say that hurts.
Mothers are so incredibly critical and whilst we love them to bits, every comment made over the years sticks and some even hurt or damage you. .
My whole life I’ve been on a diet and it’s never been enough. I remember doing weight watchers in high school with my mum and I remember our attempts at fitness and diet shakes. These are not happy memories.
Now I have a daughter of my own and something changed when she was born.
A new drive and purpose arose. .
I want her to remember a mum who emits confidence, models healthy eating and is proud of her body. I want her to have memories that aren’t filled with negativity, fat shaming and desperation.
She is my light, I want to show her that you can really do anything an be living proof that dreams really can come true.
