The #ClimateStrike is in 2993 cities ✊ in 162 countries 🌏 across all 7 continents. This is bigger than anything we’ve ever seen before. Young people are leading the way towards climate justice — demanding a #GreenNewDeal , respect for Indigenous land and sovereignty, sustainable agriculture and support for farmers, and more. It’s up to all of us to join in and get big and loud enough until our elected leaders have no choice but to listen! #strikewithus

Our #WomanCrushWednesday is Mackenzie Feldman ( @kenzief808 ) -- a 23-year-old from Honolulu, Hawaii, the founder of Herbicide-Free Campus ( @herbicidefreecampus ), a campaign to ban herbicides at schools. She expanded the Herbicide-Free Campus campaign from UC Berkeley to getting glyphosate banned in the entire UC system, to efforts nationwide with the mission of eliminating herbicides from every school for public health and the environment. Mackenzie has witnessed her community poisoned by toxics in their water and their land destroyed by big chemical corporations, and helped advocate to get herbicides banned from public schools in Hawaii. Her work is inspired by the fact that Hawaii is ground zero for the most GMO seed testing out of anywhere in the country. She recently won a 2019 Brower Youth Award and hopes to have a far-reaching impact that will lead us to a toxic-free world, where farmworkers, families, children, animals, and ecosystems will no longer be exposed to harmful pesticides. #WCW

The Endangered Species Act is one of America's greatest conservation successes. Now, on top of Interior's obscene final rollbacks to the bill, Congress could soon release a 9-bill attack of their own. Click the link in our profile to tell your Congresspeople: Stand strong for wildlife -- vote NO on the Western Caucus’ extinction package! #StopExtinction #EndangeredSpecies #Lynx

The Japanese concept of “shinrin-yoku”, which translates to “forest bathing”, is a simple idea: if a person visits a natural area, immersing oneself by mindfully using all five senses, then there are therapeutic effects. People intuitively know that nature is good for you and in the past several decades there have been many scientific studies that are demonstrating the mechanisms behind the healing effects of simply being in wild and natural areas. We are inextricably linked to the environment, and walking through #ForestBath , curated by Albie Alexander and Sam Cannon, will offer a space for us all to contemplate the relationship between ourselves and the natural world at #LifeIsBeautiful2019. Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal campaign is proud to support this experience and look forward to growing the climate movement together with @LifeIsBeautiful and those attending this year. #Repost ・・・ Bathe yourself in the sonic and cinematic backdrop of a healing forest 🌱 An immersive experience only at #LifeIsBeautiful2019 📍The Western Hotel Forest Bath by @samcannon Curated by @albie_alexander Presented by @SierraClub #Beyondcoal
