Always happy to go back to Aska and never get bored of starting the dinner with this crispy bladderwrack.
Since reopening in 2016, I have seen Aska grown so much and soon became one of the very few restaurants in US that I see as top favorites and feel willing to go back on regular basis.
As some people might know that I travel for Scandinavian restaurants every year, and have tried maybe not so many but still enough Michelin starred restaurants in the “home countries” of Nordic food. After all those meals out there in the northern areas, I still feel that Aska is one of the top among its peers.
Some people shared concern with me that usually overly beautiful dishes don’t taste good. Actually I feel the same way. But amazing part of good Nordic restaurants is they managed to keep the taste satisfying or even very outstanding while they still put so much effort on its appearance.
I will revisit Aska once again later this year. And I am very looking forward to it.
