Victor Enrich, City Portraits
Surrealist artists were always fond of architecture.
"Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be the shackles limiting our vision" Dalí once said.
Thus, it is crystal clear why the formal logic of surrealist art would be co-opted by architects being member of the 20th-century movement Deconstructivism.🏗
*Deconstructivism💣: whilst it would literally mean the actions of breaking down and demolishing a constructed structure, in fact it is the unleashing of infinite possibilities of playing around with forms and volumes.
Since 2006 Victor Enrich has been working on -City Portraits- a project where the artist is manipulating reality, folding and bending modernist structures, toppling them with unreal and aberrant illusions.📸
