An obsession with backpacking alcohol stoves. Who me!? Naaaaaaahh, not me! Haha. As you can see by my ever growing collection, these little alcohol wonders bring me great joy out in the woods. Each has its own character and each is very much a friend when it comes time for dinner, lunch or just to warm up a nice hot beverage when taking a rest on the trail. #minibulldesign #zelphstoves #alcoholstove #backpacking #backcountryadventures #backcountrycamping #camping #campstoves #campkitchen #getoutside #geardump #backpackingessentials #hikinggear #hiking #trangia #traildesigns #toaks #whiteboxstove

Mantario Trail, Whiteshell Yesterday I saw a beautiful sunset downtown portage ave. amonst the rushing cars and people. It was a nice little reminder that you cant escape the beauty of nature. I cant lie though, I was wishing I could view it from here. @jacobnordin - Magical morning at Lago di Braies. I can see why this place is so popular. Through the muddy footprints, the moldy mattresses, the midnight ice cream runs, and every magical moment in between… • This man lives his life with a contagious sense of humor, optimism, and determination that leaves me constantly impressed.. everything he touches turns out better, everyone he meets is left smiling. • I had no idea that first night at sushi in Salt Lake City that life with this guy would turn out so well. My heart is so full. • Thank you, Trent, for being my person. Happy Anniversary ❤️✨ • • • •Through the muddy footprints, the moldy mattresses, the midnight ice cream runs, and every magical moment in between… • This man lives his life with a contagious sense of humor, optimism, and determination that leaves me constantly impressed.. everything he touches turns out better, everyone he meets is left smiling. • I had no idea that first night at sushi in Salt Lake City that life with this guy would turn out so well. We’ve spent some awesome nights in our tent this year. Here are a few of my faves from 2018 for #tentviewtuesday , and yes I just made up that hashtag (Sahale > Cracker Lake > South Colony Lakes > Ice Lake > Little Yosemite Valley > Sahale (again) > Arches — okay, this was from a Jeep, not a tent, but still...). . . . . . #goodbye2018 #tentview #backcountrycamping #optoutdoors #sahale #crackerlake #yosemite #archesnationalpark #outdoorsy #camping #tent #exploretocreate #themountainsarecalling #mountainlovers #nationalparks #🏕 #⛺️ #hikerchick #takeahike #pnwonderland #northcascadesnationalpark #littleyosemite #silverton #explorecolorado #explorewashington #🏞

My favorite mug when I'm backpacking is also one of my favorite home office mugs as well. The @minibulldesign Angry Troll Pot is perfect for any type of beverages you want to throw in it. Weight with lid is 2.25oz and without lid is 1.75oz. Holds approximately 12oz with some room to spare. Flat bottom, structural ring, lip guard and cool touch wick wrapping. www.minibulldesign.com #ultralightbackpacking #campmug #coffeemug #coffeemugs #campkitchen #backcountrycamping #backcountrykitchen

BAN ORANGES. (Brace for full throttle sass, fuckers). While you may all consider oranges an efficient and delicious trail snack, I constantly see the peels littering and defacing the outdoors. Despite a pervasive thought that orange peels are biodegradable and thus « allowed » to be happily jettisoned into the wilderness, they in fact remain for up to TWO YEARS before biodegrading*, and carelessly discarding them can easily disturb sensitive ecosystems and harm wildlife. THEY MUST BE ELIMINATED COMPLETELY!!!!!!!! You may think ‘but many people eat oranges, enjoy their myriad benefits, then discard of orange peels responsibly by packing them back out with them.’ SURE….this may be the MAJORITY of orange users, but I’d still rather ban them then simply educate and encourage the small minority who are ignorant or shitty. That’s the American way, after all. I mean, let’s be honest: if you can’t forage for and source your own nourishment in the backcountry, you don’t even belong there!!!! Hikers who need to BRING their own snacks are such amateurs, ew. Everyone should learn literally everything about going hiking and camping before they ever set foot outside. Taking pragmatic steps to hone skills and build expertise over time is for fucking peasants. Learning? BAH! By this point I’m sure you all agree that banning oranges and assuming ALL orange users want to personally victimize me by purposefully destroying the wilderness through littering is MUCH more sensible than, say, broaching the topic like adults, and engaging in respectful and productive conversation. I mean, spreading awareness, providing best practices, and letting people make up their own minds after digesting the facts is basically communism. MORE RAGE LESS EDUCATION. AND ALL NON EXPERTS BETTER JUST STAY THE FUCK INSIDE. Disclaimer for fucking idiots: this is sarcasm of the highest order. Everyone deserves to enjoy the outdoors and we’re all going to make some mistakes. The key is that you’re open to learning, growing, and committing to being better than yesterday in order to safely and responsibly enjoy our most amazing and precious outdoor assets. I really like oranges. *keepScotlandbeautiful

The power of wind is not to be underestimated. I’ve seen giants of the forest shearing or uprooted from where they reside. In this picture, I’m standing next to one of many trees that fell from a very strong windstorm. Imagine if one of these massive widow makers come crashing on top of you while you rested. . “Most people like to look at mountain rivers, and bear them in mind; but few care to look at the winds, though far more beautiful and sublime, and though they become at times about as visible as flowing water. When the north winds in winter are making upward sweeps over the curving summits of the High Sierra, the fact is sometimes published with flying snow-banners a mile long. Those portions of the winds thus embodied can scarce be wholly invisible, even to the darkest imagination. And when we look around over an agitated forest, we may see something of the wind that stirs it, by its effects upon the trees. Yonder it descends in a rush of water-like ripples, and sweeps over the bending pines from hill to hill. Nearer, we see detached plumes and leaves, now speeding by on level currents, now whirling in eddies, or, escaping over the edges of the whirls, soaring aloft on grand, upswelling domes of air, or tossing on flame-like crests. Smooth, deep currents, cascades, falls, and swirling eddies, sing around every tree and leaf, and over all the varied topography of the region with telling changes of form, like mountain rivers conforming to the features of their channels.....When the storm began to abate, I dismounted and sauntered down through the calming woods. The storm-tones died away, and, turning toward the east, I beheld the countless hosts of the forests hushed and tranquil, towering above one another on the slopes of the hills like a devout audience. The setting sun filled them with amber light, and seemed to say, while they listened, "My peace I give unto you." As I gazed on the impressive scene, all the so called ruin of the storm was forgotten, and never before did these noble woods appear so fresh, so joyous, so immortal.” - The Mountains of California by John Muir, 1894 . . . . . . #wind #windstorm #windy #fallentree #johnmuir

This is Mirador Las Torres or the tower in Spanish. It’s not only the most iconic hike of Chile Patagonia but also our first hiking and camping overseas and it has changed the way we travel forever.😍 The hike is 18 km round trip. We spent one night at Torres campground ⛺️ and hike up to see sunrise shining at these three towers. That morning was an unforgettable view I’ve ever witnessed. ...........................

We were cautioned before heading out to be wary while passing any of the dozens of rivers along this stretch of coast flowing out to Lake Superior. Luckily out flow was low during this late August trip, except for the White River. In this 📸 you can see how high the cobblestone river bank is. Imagine how wild this river runs at times. #whitegravelriver #nostandingwaves . . . #lakesuperior #northernontario #backcountrycamping #kayaking #kayakcamping #wildernesscamping #wildysystems #seakayaking #greatlakes #greatlakesproud #campingontario #paddlevacation #paddledestination #kayakontario #paddlingmixtape #pukaskwanationalpark #parkscanada #paddleforever
