Canada 🇨🇦: Just north of the U.S. border, you’ll find this “wild west” landscape in Big Muddy Valley, Saskatchewan. The best way to explore the area is on a half-day tour which will take you through the “Outlaw Caves” and up to Castle Butte (pictured here). Make sure to climb to the top for the perfect birds-eye view! #CanadaKeepExploring #ExploreCanada #Canada #CharsonAdvisory #Saskatchewan #travel

We’re off tomorrow for a week of wild canoe/camping in Algonquin Park. We’re looking forward to seeing the landscapes that inspired the Group of Seven (the image is by Tom Thomson, one of the groups influences, and it shows Canoe Lake, where we’ll start our journey), bright skies (the forecast is good!) and who knows what (moose?). We’ll be back next weekend; until then, we hope your week is full of happy adventures 😊 . . . . . #groupofseven #tomthomson #artist #canadianartist #canada #ayjackson #canadianart #algonquin #algonquinpark #canoecamping #keepexploring #canadakeepexploring #selfexploration #positivity #positivevibes #adventure #travelblogger #laptoplifestyle #travelphotographer #trekandrun

Today I passed my Canadian citizenship exam with a 100% score. I had to study hard for it the past few weeks so my apologies to all if I’ve been more distracted, withdrawn or short tempered than usual. I had an excuse. If it’s any consolation, I now know much more about beavers and can advise on the making of poutine. . . Seriously, although the study was involved I’m glad I’ve done it. Many things that didn’t make sense now do and I’ve a far greater respect and admiration for what Canada is trying to be and achieve. I’m excited to learn more about my new home and my next step is to go canoe camping for a week in Algonquin National Park, that’ll happen before May is out. . One of Canadas most loved artistic movements was ‘The Group of Seven’. Some of their art is shown here, in the books I’m studying now. They painted in Algonquin and other wild places here. Tom Thomson, one of their influences, preferred the quiet of backcountry lake and hill to the idle, clever talk of the city office and looked to repay nature by creating art that might show others the true path. He sounds like he was a decent man. I’m looking forward to learning more about him and his companions, and setting out on this next stage of my Canadian adventure. . . . . #groupofseven #tomthomson #artist #canadianartist #canada #ayjackson #canadianart #algonquin #algonquinpark #canoecamping #keepexploring #canadakeepexploring #selfexploration #positivity #positivevibes

What’s to Fear Jump! Climb up the rope ladder and onto the platform, you’re tethered to a jump line and then things get real simple. You go over the edge. Step forward or backward, it doesn’t matter. Either way, gravity wins.

Looking back and reflecting - 10 things Nunavut taught Me That I Didn't Need To Know... You have arrived in heaven 😁 Another frosty morning from the Canadian Rockies. It is odd to be back in developed cities, full of parking lots and malls, closet full of clothes I barely used in two years. To me it all has not much meaning. I always long to escape to the woods, oceans or mountains and mainly I long to see the creatures. . . . . . .

What's a typical home in Iqaluit look like? Here's a little tour of Iqaluit and neighbouring Apex homes! Opening 📸Credit @JasonNugentPhoto Housing in Nunavut is not easy... to say the least. Here's some interesting facts as well as a variety of homes that I photographed when I was there. 1. The average house costs $500,000. And that doesn't come with a huge lot of land, actually quite the opposite. The lots are fairly small and homeowners only own the house, not the land, that they have to sign a 99-year lease for! 2. Renting a house is equally challenging. With a 0% occupancy rate, renters can expect to pay $3200 for a 3 bedroom home (if one becomes available). Rent is on par or higher than New York! 3. There is no underground plumbing and therefore water trucks bring in water to your house every day! (And pump out your wastewater every day as well.) No worries, it's two different trucks! #destinationnunavut #spiritofthearctic #nunavut #nunavuttourism #nunavutlife #explorenunavut #discovernunavut #nunavutadventures #travelnunavut #visitnunavut #iqaluit #nunavutnews #discovernu #inuit #discoveryournunavut #nunavutterritory #northerninuit #nunavutterritory #nunagram #explorethenorth #explorecanada #arctic #canadianarctic #canadakeepexploring #northerncanada #cbcnorth #northerncanadalife #canada_gram #canadaswonderland #canadaphotography

Wait for it... ____ “ With a quick pull of the throttle, I shot across the ice, navigating the high-powered sled over the jolting bumps and around the jagged ice peaks. Though I’m decades older now, the feeling was immediately reminiscent of being 12 and racing snowmobiles with my family at British Columbia’s Green Lake.
