Following our talk yesterday at @columbiagsapp we discussed the role and intersections of politics and culture in architecture with @atmasomi and @annapuigjaner . An enormous thank you to these two brilliant minds and to Juan Herreros for the invitation. It was a great pleasure to come to New York to speak alongside so many talented studios.

Columbia University, New York • Constructing ( engaged ) Practice Symposium.
The event traces, the narratives of young firms from around the globe critically engaged in political, technological, intellectual, and environmental conflicts. The daylong symposium features case studies and dialogues on designing, establishing, and maintaining a practice in today’s contradictory climate.
Organized by Professor Juan Herreros, the symposium hosts 12 international firms on 4 panels. Each panel includes a presentation by each firm on their respective contexts, engagements, ambitions, and influences relevant to their founding and early years, followed by joint discussions on their experiences and strategies.
