Now that the light has returned to North, I’ve landed back in Greenland to begin a season of exploration across the Arctic region.
In preparation, I spent some time looking back on the images from my travels in the last few years and this one stood out to me. We’d been travelling towards the inland ice when we saw a friend passing by on a sled with his dogs, so we stopped to say a quick hello.
The Greenland dogs are extremely efficient and strong animals, always restless and usually jumping for joy at any opportunity to run. After a big day on the ice however, they’ll use any spare moment to rest for a minute.
The dogs didn’t seem fazed as we discussed the days findings out on the frozen fjord, all eyes closed and enjoying a lay down on the fresh soft snow.
