😮News Flash - Instagram users within Australia will no longer see how many likes other posts receive, with the social media platform extending a trial to Aust, that was rolled out in Canada in May.
The test to remove the total likes on profiles and photos and video views in the feed, is an effort to make Instagram not “feel like a competition”..
Competition on Social Media ? Where did this stem from?
Mia Garlick, Facebook ANZ policy Director said - "We want Instagram to be a place where people feel comfortable expressing themselves. We hope this test will remove the pressure of how many likes a post will receive, so you can focus on sharing the things you love,”
“We are now rolling the test out to Australia so we can learn more about how this can benefit people’s experiences on Instagram, and whether this change can help people focus less on likes and more on telling their story.”
⏰ However there's no cause for alarm or panic - users can still see how many likes their own posts receive by tapping on the ‘liker list’, but others will not be able to see that number.
A key point is: Instagram said the test will not impact measurement tools like Insights and Ads Manager, however it will mean brands’ and influencers’ followers won’t be able to see how many likes their posts are getting. The test will also be expanded to other countries this month."
🤔So?? what are your thought's do you feel like this is a fresh change or do you feel total FOMO not having the likes displayed?
