After searching far & wide I’ve found my absolute favorite safer dry shampoo. I’m about progress over perfection & while I love(d) my non-aerosol @rahuabeauty & @sheamoisture dry shampoos, @playa dry shampoo was the first cleaner aerosol choice I could stand behind & WORKS. While, for your purists, it’s still an aerosol - they use Hydrofluorocarbon 152a instead of Butane as not to effect the ozone layer. So it’s a better choice, remember... progress over perfection? Also, it does contain fragrance & if you’ve been listening to me blabber, you know that’s a no-no & a catch-all label since companies can throw any proprietary ingredient they want into that word. I reached out & asked Playa about their fragrance. Their response is as follows: “We use less than 1% in each of our products. Playa products were formulated with an IFRA compliant fragrance blend to give the sensory experience of the sand and sea that we love, formulated at low, non hazardous levels. Our fragrance does not contain the known irritants linalool, acetone, benzaldehyde, benzyl acetate, benzyl alcohol, camphor, ethanol, ethyl acetate and methylene chloride.”
I love a company that answers the hard questions & does their best to choose safer ingredients while maintaining an effective product. This dry shampoo does it for me. Their packaging is recyclable & the products are made in Venice, CA which makes this Westside girl happy. When asked if their products are ‘all natural’ they state “Playa maintains the safety and efficacy of our products. We have found that using a small number of low-hazard clinical ingredients is essential to maintain the performance and stability of our range. We strive to be as clean and safe as possible, and use only minimal amounts of these clinically active ingredients.” Sounds a lot like one of my other favorite companies also based in West LA 😏
My hair is on day 5 of no washing in this pic 🙌🏼 Just wanted to share. I’ve been testing out a few other cleaner beauty products & need to get my act together to post, as always #notsponsored.
